The Old Town Commercial Association (OTCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization and growth of Lansing’s historic Old Town. Through socio-economic development, historic preservation, business recruitment, and community outreach, OTCA works to maintain Old Town as a vibrant hub of arts, culture, and commerce. With a strong commitment to building community, supporting local businesses, and cultivating an inclusive environment, we strive to make Old Town a welcoming space for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.
Founded in 1996, OTCA has played a key role in transforming Old Town into one of Lansing’s most dynamic districts. Once an area filled with vacant buildings, Old Town is now a thriving destination with restored historic architecture, locally owned businesses, and some of the city's most celebrated events. As a designated Michigan Main Street community, Old Town has benefited from nearly $100 million in public and private investment, ensuring its continued growth and sustainability. Whether you're here to explore unique shops, experience local art, or join one of our signature festivals, Old Town offers something special for all.
Old Town is an accredited Main Street America community, meaning we are part of a nationwide movement focused on place-based development and community revitalization. We work with Main Street America to strengthen our neighborhood's commercial district, fostering shared prosperity, resilient economies, and improved quality of life by following the Main Street Approach. This is a framework designed to revitalize historic downtowns and commercial districts while preserving our unique identity.
