Help spread Thanksgiving cheer with Compassionate Feast

compassionate-feast2Dear Community Supporters,

We are reaching out to you this year to ask for your support as we endeavor to feed 125 families this year for Thanksgiving. We want to provide families a Thanksgiving meal with dignity that includes fresh items they can prepare on their own as well as a turkey. We are serving low income families in the Lansing area. We work with local organizations such as Cristo Rey, Christian Services, and Big Brothers Big Sisters to obtain a list of families who are in need in the community. For 12 years the Old Town Association hosted the event and then it was passed on to the Epicenter of Worship Church in Old Town four years ago.

Over the last three years, the financial support for Compassionate Feast has declined. While we have still been able to feed families, we have had to step away from our fresh food options and have fed less families. This year we want to bounce back and have our best year with your support!

While any donation amount is greatly appreciated, a donation of $32 will help us reach our goal of $4,000. We encourage you to share this information with family, friends, co-workers, and other organizations to help us impact the community. Donating is easy! Visit to give.

We are also in need of volunteers who can help on Nov. 20 by unloading trucks, packing, and handing out food boxes in shifts between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. We will be at the Red Cedar Friends Meeting on 1400 Turner St., Lansing, MI 48906.
