11th Annual Scrooge Scramble Scores Big Again

With unseasonably warm December weather, and lots of holiday cheer, about 200 runners and walkers headed down to Old Town earlier this month for the 11th annual Scrooge Scramble 5K. The course took participants along the Lansing River Trail starting and finishing near the Brenke Fish ladder.

Kyle Tucker took first place for overall male finisher with a chip time of 16:34.3 and Hazel Anderson was the overall female finisher with a chip time of 22:01.4.

Inside Sir Pizza, the official registration and finish line hub, runners and walkers gathered to check their times, pick up any winning medals and relax after the run. The event was followed by the annual Holiday Hullabaloo, with shops throughout Old Town offering refreshments, discounts, pictures with Santa and more!

“It was wonderful having so many 5K enthusiasts in Old Town, and even better seeing them enjoy Holiday Hullabaloo after the race,” said OTCA Executive Director Vanessa Shafer.

Special thanks to Playmakers and our sponsors, Lake Trust, Cinnaire, Jackson National Life, LightSpeed, and Sir Pizza Grand Cafe for making this event happen.
