Business Spotlight: Old Town General Store

otgsAre you looking for some delicious wine to serve during your holiday celebrations?  Or perhaps some unique gifts?  If so, a visit to the Old Town General Store should be on your holiday season to-do list.

The Old Town General Store (OTGS) is located at 408 E. Grand River and boosts a variety of one-of-a-kind products by Michigan artisans as well as a large selection of wines.  In addition to a great shopping experience, OTGS offers wine and food tastings and other events throughout the year including concerts in the courtyard behind the store.  This month there is a meet and greet with local author and artist duo Robbyn and Gijsbert van Frankenbuyzen from Bath, Mich., on Nov. 12 and on Nov. 20 they are hosting a seminar introducing a new product line, Integrity Pure & Natural Skin Care.

Owner Rhea Van Atta’s enthusiasm for all things Michigan and Old Town is contagious.  On her current list of favorites are “The Crabster” from Tandem Ciders in Suttons Bay which pairs well with roast turkey, Northport’s Green Bird Cellars Gewurztraminer as an aperitif, and local Burgdorf’s Winery Cab Franc with sharp cheeses and roast beef.

For information on new arrivals, specials, and events follow them on Facebook at facebook.com/oldtowngeneralstore or visit the website, www.oldtown-generalstore.com.  As a bonus, OTGS also offers delivery services through Go Green Trikes. Visit www.gogreentrikes.com for information.
