Now in its 12th year, Compassionate Feast provides more than 100 local families, at or below the poverty line, with ingredients necessary for a traditional Thanksgiving meal in their own home. Donations and in-kind sponsorships from the community cover the cost of food for the families. Volunteers prepare baskets containing food and recipes, and distribute them to families in need. OTCA, along with a group of volunteers, will be delivering the baskets on Monday, November 19.

The Big Zoo party is Saturday, September 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Potter Park Zoo invites OTCAmembers to support the zoo while having a great time at a reduced price of $85 per ticket for 5-9 tickets or $50 per ticket for 10+ tickets.

Each year we take out an ad in the annual GLCVB visitor’s guide. This ad is used as a way to boost traffic to the area and increase the public’s knowledge about Old Town. We are offering any Old Town business the chance to be included in this ad for only $250.

For the last year and a half, Sticks and Strings has been the place to go for all your knitting needs. Situated at 1107 N. Washington Avenue in Old Town, just across from Elderly Instruments, Sticks and Strings is open every day but Sunday, at 10:00am.
Their inventory includes fine wool, cotton, sock yard, needles and more. They also offer knitting classes for both beginners and more advanced students, and semi-private lessons.

If there’s one thing we love here in Old Town, it’s an opportunity to celebrate local artists. Returning this August, the Renegade Theatre Festival will bring a spectrum of live theatre performances to Old Town, free of cost. The three-day festival takes place Thursday, August 16 through Saturday, August 18, featuring a huge variety of theatre techniques, production values and styles from artists of all ages.

Revving up for their 18th year, the Lansing JazzFest will once again fill the streets of Old Town with live, soulful entertainment during their two-day music festival.
