When Corey Montie moved back to Michigan, he knew Lansing’s night life was missing something. Having seen the arcade and bar concept in other larger markets, he thought it would be the perfect fit for a new Lansing business. The Grid Arcade & Bar brings an exciting concept to our already distinctive neighborhood. After researching all the different neighborhoods throughout Greater Lansing, Corey believes “Old Town offers the style, energy and diversity that the concept needed.”
After speaking with one of his friends who happened to be a pinball collector, Corey knew vintage arcade games and craft beer were a match made in heaven. Featuring forty craft beers on tap and dozens of vintage games, The Grid brings additional night life to Old Town.
Housed in the old Chrome Cat building, which some might remember as the Rendezvous on the Grand, he and his business partner Callie Mykut transformed the space to create an ambiance that is an experience in itself. They are hoping to add to the character and uniqueness of the neighborhood.
Corey believes The Grid’s extensive selection of craft brews and specialty cocktails will help the bar establish its following of loyal customers while the games will create an all new experience for everyone to enjoy.
“Craft beer is still the main attraction,” he said. “The games are just the catalyst to encourage people to interact and discover new ways to bond with each other.”
And best of all, every drink purchase comes with tokens to play the arcade games!
