The Polish Muslims Rocking Old Town’s Oktoberfest

oktoberfestAmerica’s polka-rock ambassadors are about to bring their eclectic sound to the streets of Old Town again! The Polish Muslims, Detroit’s premiere polka band, are slated to play on Saturday, October 1, from 9 to 11 pm during the 11th annual Old Town Oktoberfest celebration.

Their upbeat style mixes different genres of music and adds in a bit of humor resulting in a crowd-pleasing experience. They have been entertaining audiences for over thirty years with singles such as “That’s Why God Invented the Polka” and “Polka Comes to Your Haus.”

Other bands featured during the festival are Dan Wolcott of the Happy Wanderers featuring Danny Brow, Atomic Booogaloo, Vasela Kapela and Heartland Klezmorium.

Are you a little behind on the latest polka dance moves? You can stop by and grab a lesson from Mark Taylor Saturday afternoon. Once you have perfected your promenade, enjoy some German-inspired food and beer.

Oktoberfest is Friday, Sept. 30, 6-11 pm and Saturday, Oct. 1, 2-11 pm. Tickets for each day are $18 in advance or $22 at the door. Can’t decide which day to go? Join us for both! Your ticket includes admittance to the tent, a souvenir beer mug and food/drink tickets.
