First Annual Grand American Fish Rodeo

 

The Old Town Commercial Association is thrilled to announce a Grand new summer event in Lansing June 12-14! The Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) has organized the unique Grand American FishRodeo that will take place along the shores of the Grand River in the Adado Riverfront Park. The event aims to celebrate the dense heritage of the Great Lakes that is such an important part of Michigan culture. The Grand American FishRodeo shows appreciation for our rivers, lakes and aquatic life, while showcasing Lansing’s dedication to self-expression and creativity.

The inaugural Grand American FishRodeo will include:

  • Fishing tournament events (with prizes!)
  • Boat rides and a boat parade on the Grand River
  • Fishy fashion show
  • Fish derby
  • Fish tattoo contest
  • Writing contest
  • Entertainment from several ethnic and country music performers from all over the region!
