Are You Ready For Scrapfest?

Scrapfest is almost back in Old Town! Get ready for an intense sculpture competition in which teams of artists, welders and Scrapfest enthusiasts will hunt for recycled scrap materials from Friedland Industries in Old Town to bring one-of-a-kind visions to life. Scrapfest will take place simultaneously with Old Town’s annual Festival of the Moon and Sun and finished sculptures will be displayed for over 5,000 visitors and auctioned off on Saturday June, 21. So grab your scrap collecting team and get registered. Applications will be available on March 1 at 

This year’s Scrapfest is on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21 in Old Town.
There is a $25 non- refundable registration fee and applications must be received by April 25th


Important Dates:
Friday, May 10: Application submission deadline
Friday, May 17: Accepted teams will be notified by phone and team list will be published on Old Town’s Scrapfest website:
Saturday, June 1: Team & sponsor informational session and material collection at Friedland Industries, Inc. at 10 a.m.
Saturday, June 1– Friday, June 14: Build time!
Friday, June 13: Sculpture dropped off between 10 a.m. and noon at DEVON Self-Storage, 708 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
Monday, June 17–Thursday, June 20: Selected Scrapfest sculptures will be displayed on flatbed trucks throughout the Lansing area. Not every team’s sculpture is guaranteed to be displayed on these trucks.
Friday, June 21: Sculptures are displayed during Festival of the Moon (6- 11 p.m). 
Saturday, June 22 : Sculptures judged and auctioned during Festival of the Sun.
