PNC Neighborhood Wishlist Finalist

About this project

ScrapFest is a partnership between community artists, our Michigan Main Street association, and our neighborhood’s oldest business that have collaborated and allowed us to install a new sculpture made entirely of scrap metal each year. As we add sculptures, we’re enriching the neighborhood, adding art and interactivity to our streets and making the beautiful Old Town district an even better place to spend time. How I would use the money

While we have been able to install each sculpture, we don’t have any signage, so visitors don’t even know the name of the sculptures or the artists who made them! The PNC grant will allow us to develop and install informational plaques which will introduce who built each sculpture, talk about the artwork, and encourage visitors to look for more sculptures throughout the neighborhood.
