Scrooge Scramble 5k Run/Walk

We are hosting our 6th annual Scrooge Scramble 5K Run/Walk on the streets of Old Town and Lansing River Trail to benefit Dickens Village on Dec. 1, 2012 at 10 a.m.

The race will begin on Turner St. and will continue through Old Town and the Lansing River Trail in an accurate 5K. Each participant will receive a Bah-Humbug Scrooge cap and the first 100 registrants will receive a piece of jingle bell flair. The overall winner will receive an OTCA festival package and the top 3 places in each age group will receive medals.

“This year we really tried to spice up the Scrooge Scramble and add a few more fun and exciting elements,” said OTCA Executive Director Louise Gradwohl. “We hope people have a blast running through our historic community and the beautiful Lansing River Trail, but additionally realize their money is going directly to help Old Town Dickens village.”

Participants will gather at Riverview Fitness Center, located at 1106 N. Cedar St., for a pre-race stretch before heading to the start line. Riverview Fitness Center will also host participants finishing up their 5k for snacks, beverages and the award ceremony.

The registration fee is $20 before Nov. 24 and $25 on race day. To register for the Scrooge Scramble click on the registration form link below.

All of the proceeds from the Scrooge Scramble will benefit Old Town Dickens Village, a free family event. Dickens Village will take place immediately following the Scrooge Scramble from 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
