For the last year and a half, Sticks and Strings has been the place to go for all your knitting needs. Situated at 1107 N. Washington Avenue in Old Town, just across from Elderly Instruments, Sticks and Strings is open every day but Sunday, at 10:00am.
Their inventory includes fine wool, cotton, sock yard, needles and more. They also offer knitting classes for both beginners and more advanced students, and semi-private lessons.
Shop owners Kathy McCormack and Sabrina Woodward opened the store in November 2010. Today, the store has expanded from a place to shop, to a place for people to get together and create. There are rooms above the storefront with seating areas, tables and chairs for people of all ages and abilities to come knit, crochet, spin and weave.
Sticks and Strings “Yarn Club” offers participants a chance to receive a project to complete every three months. Members of the Yarn Club receive a project pattern, yarn and any accessories needed to complete the project at the beginning of the quarter, which is a three-month period. And at only $40, this club is a steal!
For more information regarding class schedules and how to join the Yarn Club, Sticks and Strings can be reached at 517-372-1000 or www.sticksandstringslansing.com.
