Member Spotlight: Lamb’s Gate Antiques Celebrates Two Year Anniversary

On May 22 Lamb’s Gate Antiques will celebrate two years in business in Old Town. Since its grand opening, Lamb’s Gate has filled up their once sparse store front with a collection of antiques and hidden treasures.  Ashley, who runs Lamb’s Gate with her mother-in-law and owner Carol, says one change within the past two years has been the amount of additional merchandise the store now offers, they have something for everyone.

Lamb’s Gate Antiques has another location in Grand Ledge that celebrated its 11th anniversary in
March. The Grand Ledge location opened as a result of Carol’s “empty nest.” After her eldest son moved out, she decided to embark on a new journey in the world of antiques.

Carol and Ashley decided to open up a second store front after nine years of business in Grand Ledge. Carol had her eye on the Old Town neighborhood for years – and she knew Lamb’s Gate Antiques would be a perfect fit.

Lamb’s Gate exemplifies what a family business is truly about. “I was pregnant with my first child when we started the expansion into Old Town. I enjoyed the flexibility that a family business has to offer,” said Ashley. “My now two year old son has grown up in this store and I’m excited to raise my second child in this cozy environment as well.” Carol and Ashley enjoy the calm chaos & wouldn’t have it any other way.

Lamb’s Gate Antiques is located at 1219 Turner Street in Old Town. To learn more about Lamb’s Gate visit their website www.lambsgateantiques.com.
