This holiday season Old Town will transform into a Victorian scene for the fifth annual Dickens Village. On December 3, from noon to 5 p.m., family friendly activities will be taking place throughout Old Town.
To kick off the day, OTCA (with help from Riverview Fitness) will be putting on Scrooge Scramble! Scrooge Scramble is a 5K run/walk along the streets of Old Town and the Lansing River Trail, beginning at 10 a.m. The race map, registration and other race information is available on our website here.
Following the race, there will be many other festive activities to participate in. Favorites Café will be hosting gingerbread house building, Christmas card-making at Gallery 1212, and carriage rides by the Common Gentry Carriage Company. There will also be puppet shows, carolers throughout the day (such as MSU Russian Chorus & Spartan Sur), and much more!
The Greater American Fierce Beard Organization (GAFBO) will be at Dickens Village again this year, showing off their beards, providing arts and crafts for the kids, and giving tips on how to get the perfect mustache.
Sir Pizza is also offering free hot chocolate and hot cider for the community along with delicious pizzas. Throughout the day, there will be plenty of free activities happening in Old Town to keep everyone busy.
Want to be part of the festivities and fun? We need volunteers! Call the OTCA office for more information about Dickens Village events and volunteering at 517-485-4283.
