Farmers’ Market Opens May 1

Now in its fourth year, the Old Town Famers’ Market exists to provide area residents and Greater Lansing patrons with fresh, locally grown produce and products.  Old Town’s Famers’ Market will be held the first Sunday of each month beginning May 1, from 10am-3pm in the Sir Pizza parking lot (at the corner of Turner and Grand River).

Old Town is excited to be offering a farmers’ market in our community. Farmers’ Markets give local farmers a place to offer their products, and in our increasingly “green” and health conscious society, a Farmers’ Market is a staple in any progressive and thoughtful community.  Eating locally produced food has other added benefits such as allowing farmers the chance to pick produce at the peak of flavor, preserve the nutritional content of fresh produce and since locally-grown produce does not travel as far to get to your table, the difference in mileage saves fossil fuels.  Additionally, Farmers’ Markets work toward Old Town’s larger mission to revitalize our greater community.
